Hi everybody! today I'm going to talk about carnival because we are in the month of this celebration. the origins of this festivity is Cristian-catholic. Carnival is a public celebration,in which there are parades,dress ups and street parties.
It is supposed that the word carnival comes from medieval Latin "carnelevarium" which meant "remove the beef" and referring to the religious prohibition of beef consumption during the forty days of the Lent.
The most famous carnivals are in south America(Uruguay,Brazil,Argentina,Colombia...)but the carnival of Rio de Janeiro is the most important.The most famous celebrations of carnival in Europe are In Italy(Venice) and Spain(Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Cadiz).
Talking about me,I don't know yet if I'm going to dress up or not.Some of my friends will dress up like"Vikings" and others like "hookers".Maybe I will go with them.
